In a 3L four-necked flask, 573g of 2,5-dibromo-4-methylpyridine was dissolved in 2.2L of NMP. Under mechanical stirring, 282g of sodium ethoxide was added. The heating was stopped after the temperature was raised to 40°C, and the reaction was naturally heated to 70°C. Lower the temperature to about 60 and react for 2h. TLC analysis of the raw material reaction was complete, 3L water and 1L ethyl acetate were added to the system, the aqueous phase was extracted twice with ethyl acetate (2×2L), the ethyl acetate phases were combined, dried and concentrated to dryness.470 g of 5-bromo-2-ethoxy-4-methylpyridine solid was obtained with a yield of 95%.
