To a solution of compound 9b (473.9 mg, 1.73 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (15 mL) was refluxed under N2 and 0.5 M NaOH (10 mL) solution was added to the system.
Then the reaction mixture was refluxed for 5 min and poured to ice-water (50 mL).
The mixture was subsequently neutralized by 1M HCl solution and extracted with ethyl ether.
The organic layer was washed with water, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain a crude product.
The crude product was purified by column chromatography on silica gel to give compound 9c (88%).
