Recycled solvents
1.What is recycled Solvent?
Recycled Solvents are regenerative chemical raw materials refined from electronic industry waste or printing and coating industries waste. High-purity recovered solvent can partially or completely replace the virgin solvents. Taiwan, South Korea and China are the main country producing refined solvents in Asia.
2.What are the advantages of using recycled solvent?
(a) Save cost.
Refined solvents’ price are better compared with virgin ones. As thinner, manufacturers use big volume of solvents in painting and coating production, it could save a big cost for them. But because of the tight, nonstable supply but high demand, the price advantage of recycled solvent is getting weaker year after year.
(b) Expand resource utilization.
Although the solvent is relatively uniform in the process of production and use, if the solvent can be recycled for secondary use, the resource utilization rate can be expanded which can improve the production efficiency and ensure the discarded resources are not wasted.
3.What kinds of recycled solvents are mass produced?
The output of recycled solvents normally depend on the virgin materials volume, recycled solvents which are widely produced and used as following:
Methoxy Propanol Acetate(PMA)
Methoxy Propanol(PM)
Isopropyl alcohol(IPA)
N-Butyl acetate(NBAC)
Ethyl acetate(ETAC)
Acetone
Mixture solvent: PMA + EEP
Mixture solvent: PMA+PM
