Steps:

Synthesis of 4-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)thiomorpholine 1,1-dioxide (3)[5g]
To a stirred solution of 4-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)thiomorpholine (3 g,0.021mol) in dichloromethane (50mL) was added m-CPBA(10.9 g, 0.0638mol) at 0 C. The reaction mixture was stirred atroom temperature for 6 h. After completion of the reaction, thesolvent was removed under reduced pressure to afford the crudecompound. The crude product was partitioned between ethylacetate and aqueous NaHCO3 solution. Then, the organic layerwas separated, washed with brine, dried over anhydrousNa2SO4 and evaporated under reduced pressure to afford 71%of 4-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)thiomorpholine 1,1-dioxide (3).
