Into a 250-mL 3-necked round-bottom flask purged and maintained with an inert atmosphere of argon, was placed 1.4 (5 g, 23.0 mmol, 1.00 eq) and ammonia (50 mL). The reaction was stirred for 15 h at 30°C in an oil bath. The solids were collected by filtration. The mixture was concentrated under vacuum to yield 4.0 g (86.0%) of 1.5 as an off-white solid. (ES, m/z): 199 (M-H)'.
