Steps:

EXAMPLE 10 4-Aminocarbonylphenylboronic acid A solution of 4-carboxyphenylboronic acid (1g, 0.06 mol) and thionyl chloride 875 mL) was heated to 50-60° C overnight. The thionyl chloride was evaporated off. Half of the residue was added to concentrated ammonia (30 mL). The reaction was heated to reflux. Hot filtration and subsequent acidification of the filtrate yielded the crude material. The crude material was purified by suspending it in diluted sodium hydrogencarbonate to give 1.09 of the desired material.
