Example 6 (S)-N-(2-cymo- 1 -( 1 -hydroxy-7-isopropyl- 1 ,3 -dihydrobenzo [c] [ 1 ,2^"|oxaborol-6-yloxy^")pro pan-2-yl^')-4-(^'trifluoromethoxy^')benzamide To a solution of l-(2,6-dihydroxyphenyl)ethanone (50.0g, 329.0mmol) and potassium carbonate (136.2g, 986.8mmol) in DMF (200mL) is added CH₃I (48.6mL, 822.5mmol) slowly at rt. The mixture is stirred for 16h at rt, poured into ice water (lOOOmL) and stirred for 30 min. The precipitate is filtered, washed with water and dried to give the desired product as a light yellow solid (50g, yield 84%).
