C.1 (Synthesis of compound 1 shown in Table 1 by a conventional method)
Comparative Example 1 (Synthesis of compound 1 shown in Table 1 by a conventional method) To 100 ml of ethanol, 2,4-dihydroxy-3-formylquinoline obtained by formylation of 16.1 g of 2,4-dihydroxyquinoline and 9.5 g of aniline were added and the mixture was maintained under reflux for 180 minutes. The mixture was air-cooled with stirring and filtered at room temperature. Then, the resulting cake was washed with ethanol, dried and then recrystallized from dimethylformamide (DMF) to give a pale yellow powder, m.p. 262 to 265°C. The yield was about 55%. The powder was subjected to a spectrum analysis. As a result, an absorption curve which is the same as that of Example 1 was obtained.
