General procedure: Fluorobenzenes (3eq, 30 mmol), amines (1 eq, 10 mmol), K₂CO₃ (2 eq) and NMP (15 mL) were charged to a 20 mL microwave vial equipped with a magnetic stir bar. The vial was capped and heated in the Biotage Initiator microwave reactor (with following setting: prestir = 20 s; absorption level = very high; fixed hold time = on) for 1-6 h at 190-250 °C as indicated. After cooling to 50 °C, the vial was opened and the contents were transferred to a separatory funnel containing water (60 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (15 mL × 4). The combined organic extracts were washed with water, and dried over anhydrous Na₂SO₄. After removal of the solvent, the residues were purified by the column chromatography on silica gel to give the pure product.
