Description
Homoplantaginin has bacteriostatic effect. It has moderate inhibitory effect on the common pathogenic bacteria of chronic bronchitis such as Staphylococcus albus and pneumococcus in vitro. It has a certain antagonistic effect on the infection of Staphylococcus aureus in animals, and can reduce the mortality rate 20 %. It has certain antitussive and expectorant effects, and its expectorant ability is greater than that of ammonium chloride.
