Netrin控制中樞神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)連合軸突和外周運(yùn)動軸突的引導(dǎo)。它與DCC或一些UNC5受體的結(jié)合將分別導(dǎo)致軸突吸引或排斥。與UNC5C結(jié)合可能會導(dǎo)致UNC5C與微管中聚合的TUBB3解離，從而導(dǎo)致微管動力學(xué)和軸突排斥增加。涉及背根神經(jīng)節(jié)軸突向脊髓的投射。它還通過與受體的結(jié)合作為一種存活因子，防止細(xì)胞凋亡的發(fā)生。通過調(diào)節(jié)細(xì)胞凋亡參與腫瘤發(fā)生。
