Description | Germanium (IV) bromide is a white solid with acidic smell. It reacts violently with water. It is soluble in pure ethanol, carbon tetrachloride, benzene and ether.1 It is used as a germanium source for uses compatible with bromides and in acidic condition. It is used as a chemical gent.2
