Glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor attachment 1 protein Chemische Eigenschaften,Einsatz,Produktion Methoden
Verwenden
Anti-GPAA1 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 0.5μg/ml. It is also useful for immunohistochemistry at a concentration of 4-8μg/ml.
Biochem/physiol Actions
GPAA1 [glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor attachment 1 homolog (yeast)] gene also referred to as GAA1 or hGAA1 encodes a protein which is a component of a transamidase. It is located at 8q24.3 and contains twelve exons that span about 4kb. It plays a pivotal role in GPI anchoring at the GPI transfer step where it catalyzes the attachment of GPI to proteins containing a C-terminal GPR attachment signal. GPAA1 gene amplification results in overexpression of RNA and protein in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Hence, it facilitates as a potential amplification target and regulates the behavior of tumor cells.
