ANTI-C-MYC (PTHR58, SER62) RABBIT PAB Chemische Eigenschaften,Einsatz,Produktion Methoden
Allgemeine Beschreibung
The transcription factor c-Myc is a short-lived nuclear phosphoprotein involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and cancer. Expression of c-Myc is strictly controlled by mitogens and is required for cell cycle entry. c-Myc binds to DNA and activates transcription as a heterodimeric complex with Max. c-Myc is phosphorylated
in vitro at Ser
62 by MAP Kinase, and
in vivo at both Thr
58 and Ser
62 although the pathways and kinases acting
in vivo have not been identified. Mutation of Thr
58 and Ser
62 to Ala inhibits the ability of c-Myc to stimulate transcription. c-Myc, a ~45 kDa protein that migrates with an apparent molecular weight of ~64-67kDa in reducing SDS-PAGE, appears to regulate multiple aspects of growth control; c-Myc promotes cell proliferation in the presence of Cdk inhibitors and induces apoptosis upon overexpression in serum deprived cells.
