4.3.2. General procedure for the synthesis of hydrazides from corresponding esters (Procedure A)

General procedure: Ester (1 eq) and N₂H₂.H₂O (5 eq) were solubilized in EtOH (5 mL/mmol). The resulting mixture was refluxed 18-24 h. The reaction was monitored by TLC (CH₂Cl₂/MeOH, 95/5) and LCMS. Solvents were removed under reduced pressure and crude products were extracted with CH₂Cl₂ or ethyl acetate. The combined organics werewashed with saturated Na₂CO₃ aqueous solution, and dried (Na₂SO₄) and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the desired hydrazide.
