Steps:
Preparation of N, N′-di-(2-chlorophenyl)malonamide
2-Chloro aniline (2.55g, 20mmol), diethyl malonate (1.14mL, 10mmol) was properly mixed in a 25mL beaker and well mixed. The obtained mixture was sonicated at frequencies of 37kHz at 60°C for 2min. The crude product was recrystallized in a minimum amount of ethanol to give compound as a white powder, Yield: 93%, Mp: 192-193°C. FT-IR (KBr): ν(cm-1)=3100 (NH), 1685 (C=O); 1H NMR (400MHz, DMSO-d6); δ 10.39 (NH), 7.80 (2H, d, J=8.0Hz), 7.50 (2H, d, J=7.6Hz), 7.20 (2H, dd, J=8.0, 7.6Hz), 7.02 (2H, dd, J=7.6, 7.2Hz), 3.58 (2H, s, -CH2-).
