General procedure for the synthesis of 1-isobutyl phenylthiourea (1)
Phenylisothiocyanate (15 g, 111.11 mmol) was dissolved in toluene, and then isobutyl amine (8.11 g, 111.11 mmol) was added slowly at room temperature, and after a while plenty of white precipitation appeared.
Stirring was continued for 1 h.
The precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with toluene, and dried to afford product (1) as white powder.
