4.2.2 Synthesis of intermediates 13a-d
General procedure: To a solution of the intermediate 12 (10mmol) in methanol (30ml) was added concentrated sulphuric acid three drops. The resulting mixture was stirred for 7hat room temperature. The reaction mixture was then concentrated under reduced pressure and diluted with ethyl acetate (50ml). The mixture was washed with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate and brine. After removing the solvent under reduced pressure, the crude product was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel to yield the intermediates 13a-d.
