Example 66B 6-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-2H-pyridazin-3-one The product of example 66A (24.0 g, 94.5 mmol) was dissolved in HOAc (200 mL) and treated with bromine (Aldrich, 18.81 g, 104.5 mmol) in acetic acid (20 mL) at ambient temperature. The brown mixture was then warmed to 100° C. for 1 h, cooled down to ambient temperature and diluted with of water (200 mL) while stirring. The white precipitate was isolated by filtration and dried under vacuum overnight to provide the title compound (25.0 g, 100%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.07 (d, J=10.2 Hz, 1H), 7.55-7.69 (m, 4H), 7.72 (d, J=9.8 Hz, 1H); MS (DCl/NH3) m/z 251 (M+H)+, 253 (M+H)+.
