4- (Trimethylsilyl) aniline 4-(Trimethylsilyl)-1-nitrobenzene, Ex 5, Step A (1.63 g, 8.35 mmol) dissolved in ethanol (50 ml) was added 5% palladium on charcoal (500 mg, 0.23 mmol), and stirred under 1 atm of hydrogen pressure overnight. The mixture was then filtered through a pad of Celite and concentrated under reduced pressure, giving 1.3 g (94%) of the title compound.
