4-bromo-3-trifluoromethyl-benzoyl chloride (prepared by stirring a solution of 4-bromo-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid (1.23 g, 4.57 mmol, CAS RN 161622-14-6) in thionylchloride (10 mL) at 100° C. for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was evaporated and the residue was dissolved in 5 mL toluene and concentrated under vacuum. This was repeated for 3 times to completely remove remains of thionylchloride)
