(2) The compound obtained in the Reference Example 11(1) (1.92g, 14.7mmol) was dissolved in acetic acid 20ml, followed by heating at 80?C and dropwise addition of antiformin (20ml). After end of the dropwise addition, the mixture was stirred by at 80?C for 30 minutes. The reaction mixture was concentrated and the crystals were collected by filtration. The filtrate was extracted with ethyl acetate. The crystals obtained above were combined with the extract, followed by drying and concentration by evaporation of the solvent. Thus obtained crystals were washed with isopropyl ether and collected by filtration to give 4,5-dichloro-6-hydroxypyrimidine (1.29g). 1H-NMR(DMSO-d6) δ 8.22(1H, s), 13.4(1H, br s) IR(Nujol) 3262, 3070, 1694, 1646, 1625, 1584, 1389, 1054, 1045 cm-1 m.p.:not higher than 202?C
