Preparation of methyl 5-chloro-2-[N-(3-ethoxycarbonyl)propyl-N-p-toluenesulfonyl]aminobenzoate
Methyl 5-chloro-2-(N-p-taluenesulfonyl)aminobenzoate (585 gm) as obtained in reference example 3, ethyl-4-bromo butyrate (369.6 gm) and potassium carbonate (664 gm) in dimethylformamide (4400 ml) were added at room temperature.
The contents were heated to 120° C. and maintained for 2 hours.
The reaction mass was poured into water and filtered.
The solid obtained was dried to give 726 gm of methyl 5-chloro-2-[N-(3-ethoxycarbonyl)propyl-N-p-toluenesulfonyl]aminobenzoate.
