2. Typical procedure for the synthesis of acetamides 9 and 16a-16e
General procedure: To a solution of substituted 2-methylaniline (3.92 mmol) in acetonitrile was added aceticanhydride (400 μL, 4.23 mmol) under a nitrogen atmosphere. The reaction mixture was stirredat 60 °C until the aniline was completely consumed (monitored by TLC), and then allowed tocool down to room temperature. The precipitate was collected by vacuum filtration using aBüchner funnel and washed with hexane (50 mL). The precipitate was then purified by flashcolumn chromatography on silica gel (EtOAc/hexanes = 1:1) to give the correspondingacetamide.
