Reference Example 33 2-Bromo-N-methyl-N-phenylacetamide To a solution of N-methylaniline (1.90 mL, 17.5 mmol) and triethylamine (2.44 mL, 17.5 mmol) in ethyl acetate (40 mL) is added a solution of bromoacetyl bromide (1.52 mL, 17.5 mmol) in ethyl acetate (40 mL) at 0°C, and the mixture is stirred at 20-25°C for 30 minutes. After the reaction, the mixture is filtered, and the solvent is evaporated under reduced pressure to give 2-bromo-N-methyl-N-phenylacetamide (4.60 g, quantitative).
