7.1 4.1.7.1. Synthesis of 2-amino-4,6-dimethylnicotinamide(31b).
Malonamidine hydrochloride (30) (20.4 g, 148.4 mmol)was dissolved in 1 L of methanol. After addition of acetylacetone(15.3 ml, 148 mmol) and KOH pellets (9.99 g, 178 mmol) the mixturewas stirred for 24 h at rt. Evaporation gave 24.5 g (100%) of theproduct as a white solid. MS (ESI): 166.6 [M+H]+.
