Steps:

1 4.2.1. General procedure for the preparation of compound 4a-b

General procedure: To a stirred solution of tert-butyl 4-oxopiperidine-1-carboxylate (200 mg, 0.67 mmol) in anhydrous MeOH (5 mL)was added N-methylcyclohexanamine/cyclohexanamine, NaCNBH3 (166 mg, 2.68 mmol) at room temperature. Themixture was adjusted to pH 6 by acetic acid, and stirred for 3 hours. The mixture quenched by H2O (20 mL), andextracted by DCM. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous MgSO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue waspurified by chromatography on a silica gel column to yield compound 4a-b.
