Example 102B; 28 mls (28 mMol) of 1 M potassium tert-butoxide in tetrahydrofuran was added to a mixture of 8.5 g (28 mMol) of the compound from example 102A in 50 mls of N,N-dimethylformamide and the reaction was stirred for 2 hours. 150 mls of diethyl ether was added and the organic phase was washed with water, saturated NaCl, dried with MgSO₄ and the solvent evaporated to provide Example 102B.
