Steps:

Ethanol (200 ml) and palladium carbon (2.5 g) were added to benzyl N-(3-(4-hydroxypiperidino)propyl)carbamate (2.96 g); and the reaction mixture was stirred vigorously under hydrogen atmosphere overnight. Palladium carbon was removed by filtration, and the filtrate was concentrated to yield the title compound (1.5 g). ¹H-NMR Spectrum (DMSO-d₆) δ (ppm): 1.25-1.38 (2H, m), 1.41-1.49 (2H, m), 1.61-1.69 (2H, m), 1.84-1.95 (2H, m), 2.18-2.25 (2H, m), 2.49-2.57 (2H, m), 2.58-2.69 (2H, m), 3.30-3.42 (1H, m).
