Pregabalin is a novel gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor agonist, which can block voltage-dependent calcium channels and reduce the release of neurotransmitters. It is mainly used in the treatment of peripheral neuralgia and adjuvant treatment of partial epileptic seizures.
