[Origin] 

It is born in wasteland, hillside, valley, forest side grassland, roadside, ditch or stone gap at an altitude of 500 ~ 1200m. Distributed in North China, Northeast China and Shaanxi, Gansu, Henan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi. It is also found in Korea, Japan, Central Asia and Europe.

[ Plant morphology ]

Perennial herbs, 30 ~ 60cm tall. Plants contain brown - yellow milk. The taproot is stout and conical. Stems erect or oblique, branched, pubescent or glabrous. Leaves alternate, long petiolate; Leaves one to two pinnately divided, lobes obovate, margins with uneven blunt teeth, white surface, back pinkish white, very different size, 5 ~ 15cm long, 3 ~ 10cm wide. Flowers arranged in umbels, pedicels fine, unequal; Sepals 2, Chemicalbook elliptic, ca. 5mm, glabrous or sparsely hairy; Petals 4, yellow, obovate or oblong-obovate, 7 ~ 10mm long, 5 ~ 7mm wide; Stamens numerous, filaments slender; Ovary cylindrical, 1-locular, composed of 2 carpels. Capsule, fine cylindrical, 2 ~ 4cm long, 2 ~ 3mm wide. Seeds numerous, ovate, ca. 1mm long, dark brown, surface with fine lines and cockscomb protrusions. Flowering in April to May, fruit in May to July.
