Anti-oxidation effect of rosmarinic acid

Rosmarinic acid has strong free radical scavenging activity and antioxidant activity in the body.
The results showed that the mechanism of rosmarinic acid was as follows: rosmarinic acid and unsaturated fatty acid competitively combined with lipid peroxy group, which stopped the chain reaction of lipid peroxidation and reduced the lipid peroxidation rate, while rosmarinic acid was oxidized to quinone form. Smarinic acid inhibited neutrophil respiratory burst and inhibited lysosome release by reducing intracellular calcium concentration.
Inhibits endothelial cell-mediated low-density lipoprotein oxidation. The antioxidant activity of rosmarinic acid is related to its structure. Studies have shown that o-diphenol hydroxyl group is the material basis of free radical scavenging activity. And the conjugated double bond at C3 has a synergistic effect
