The methods for determining the active components in medicinal plants include colorimetric method, Coulomb titration method, fluorescence photometry and thin layer torsion. However, the above four determination methods are complicated, low sensitivity, precision and accuracy are not ideal.
Ultraviolet spectrophotometry
Because the content of luteolin 3 '-glucoside is at 353nm wavelength, it can be directly determined by UV spectrophotometry, and the other components in the extract and preparation have no obvious interference on the determination result. The method is simple and rapid. Therefore, the UV spectrophotometry for the determination of luteolin - 3 '- glucoside is better.
Thin layer chromatography
The quantitative determination of luteolin in CHRYSANTHEMUM from different producing areas and varieties was carried out by thin-layer scanning method. The results showed that the results would be helpful for the establishment of quality standard of chrysanthemum, and provide a theoretical basis for its planting and purchasing.
High performance liquid chromatography
The method is simple, reliable, sensitive, easy to use, short time, good separation and accurate. It can be used as a quality control method for pharmaceutical preparations.
Reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography
The method is simple, sensitive, accurate and versatile for the separation of non-polar, polar or ionic compounds.
