Luteolin is widely distributed in nature. It was originally separated from the leaves, stems and branches of the herb luteolin (ResedaodorataL.) in the family Resedaceae. It can be separated from a variety of natural herbs and fruits of vegetables. It was found that it was mainly found in honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, Schizonopsis thunb., artichoke, Perilla, Scutellaria, Purpura nubria and other natural medicinal materials, as well as in vegetables and fruits such as sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, beet, broccoli, carrot, celery, sweet pepper, pepper and groundnut. Luteolin is also found in other plant products, such as olive oil and red wine, as well as in balsamina, thyme, and the labiaceae plants whole leaf and sinew.
Luteolin is not present in the flesh of tamarind, while luteolin is present in the shell, and luteolin has been previously reported in the leaves of capers.
