Pyrethrins is the main raw material for the preparation of mosquito incense, and is the insecticidal active ingredient contained in the perennial herbaceous pyrethrum of the Compositae family. There are mainly pyrethrin I and pyrethrin II, and a small amount of pyrethrin I and pyrethrin II with similar structures. At present, a variety of compounds similar to natural pyrethrins have been artificially synthesized as insecticides, collectively referred to as pyrethroids. Pyrethrin is a yellow viscous oily liquid with a delicate fragrance. It's insoluble in water, soluble in many organic solvents. It's unstable, decomposes and fails when exposed to alkali, and decomposes and fails under strong light or high temperature.
