Liver Protection- Vine Tea Extract Dihydromyricetin

Release time: 2022-08-08

Dihydromyricetin, mostly extracted from a woody vine of the genus Serpentine in the family Vitaceae, is also extracted from date palm. In addition to the general properties of flavonoids, dihydromyricetin also has the functions of relieving alcoholism, preventing alcoholic liver and fatty liver, inhibiting liver cell deterioration and reducing the incidence of liver cancer. It is a good product for liver protection and sobriety.

Introduction:
Chinese name: Dihydromyricetin
English name: Dihydromyricetin
CAS No.: 27200-12-0
Molecular formula: C15H12O8
Molecular weight: 320.25

Physical properties:
Ingredient classification: Flavonoids
Molecular weight: 320.25
Molecular formula: C15H12O8
Appearance:White or off-white powder
It is white needle crystal (ethanol), easily soluble in hot water, hot ethanol and acetone, soluble in ethanol and methanol, very slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, insoluble in chloroform and petroleum ether.

Chemical properties :
Microherb study shows that dihydromyricetin is thermally stable, but with the increase of temperature greater than 100°C dihydromyricetin will undergo irreversible oxidation reaction. Dihydromyricetin is stable under neutral and meta-acidic conditions.

Effects:
Dihydromyricetin is the extract of Garcinia Cambogia, the main active ingredient of Garcinia Cambogia. It has special effects in relieving alcoholism, preventing alcoholic liver, fatty liver, inhibiting the deterioration of liver cells, reducing the incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma, anti-hypertension, inhibiting platelet aggregation in vitro and thrombus formation in vivo, reducing blood lipid and blood sugar levels, improving SOD activity and protecting liver.

Antibacterial effect: Pharmacological experiments have shown that dihydromyricetin has antibacterial effects on Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Bacillus aeruginosa, Brewer's yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Penicillium, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Trichoderma reesei and Rhizopus sp.

Regulation of blood glucose and blood lipid: pharmacological experiments in mice by gavage showed that dihydromyricetin can significantly inhibit the increase of blood glucose in mice induced by tetracycline, epinephrine, streptomycin, etc. It also increases the serum insulin level, significantly reduces the infiltration of lymphocytes in pancreatic tissue, significantly reduces the inflammatory reaction, and significantly increases the number of islets. Dihydromyricetin reduced the serum triacylglycerol (TG) level in streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemic rats, but had no significant effect on serum total cholesterol (TC) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL2C) level.

Hepatoprotective effect: Dihydromyricetin had significant protective effect on carbon tetrachloride toxic injury in rat hepatocytes cultured in vitro, and liver injury induced by D2 galactosamine and lipopolysaccharide in mice. Dihydromyricetin can protect the liver, accelerate the rapid decomposition of acetaldehyde, a metabolite of ethanol, into non-toxic substances, and reduce its damage to hepatocytes. In addition, dihydromyricetin can improve the increase of serum lactate dehydrogenase activity caused by hepatocyte injury, inhibit the formation of collagen fibers in hepatic M cells, thus playing a hepatoprotective role, significantly reducing the damage of ethanol on the liver, and restoring the normal state of the liver rapidly. Microherb tests have shown that dihydromyricetin can protect the liver, accelerate the rapid decomposition of acetaldehyde, a metabolite of ethanol, into non-toxic substances, and reduce damage to liver cells. Dihydromyricetin has a rapid onset of action and a long-lasting effect, and is a good product for liver protection and sobriety.

Antioxidant effect: 98% purity of dihydromyricetin can significantly inhibit the production of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the homogenate of rat heart muscle, liver and brain tissue, and the effect of inhibiting MDA production increases with the increase of dihydromyricetin concentration, the scavenging rate of 99% dihydromyricetin on diphenyltrinitrophenylhydrazine (DPPH) radical in the test system. Dihydromyricetin can significantly inhibit MDA production in oils and fats, and the antioxidant effect increases with the increase of dihydromyricetin purity (60%-90%); it has strong antioxidant effect on both animal and vegetable oils.
Antitumor effect: In recent years, antitumor pharmacodynamic studies have found that one of the active ingredients, the small molecule compound of sericin, has a relatively strong anticancer effect. In vitro antitumor studies have found that this compound can improve tumor therapeutic effects and improve patients' vital signs by inhibiting tumor blood vessel growth and regulating and enhancing cellular immune function.

Hinted snake grape, also known as vine tea, is a traditional folk medicine that has been widely used to treat skin diseases, boils and infectious diseases such as osteomyelitis and acute lymphitis. Dihydromyricetin is widely used in proprietary Chinese medicine preparations such as tablets, capsules, and punches for the treatment of respiratory tract infections and alcoholism. In recent years, antitumor pharmacodynamic studies have found that one of its active ingredients, the small molecule compound of serpentine, has strong anticancer effects. The research of dihydromyricetin has been granted a patent for its invention in the field of preparation of anti-leukemia and nasopharyngeal cancer drugs. It has been prepared to enter the clinical trial stage as a class I new drug. Microherb has completed the extraction and purification of Garcinia Cambogia tea extract (total flavonoids of Hibiscus spp.) and dihydromyricetin, and has completed the toxicological experiments and efficacy studies. We have also developed health food products such as instant tea, total flavonoids of Hibiscus grape and dihydromyricetin capsules.
