Luteolin is a representative natural flavonoid, belonging to weak acid tetrahydroxy flavonoids, which is widely distributed in the plant kingdom. It is mainly found in honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, Schizonepeta, white hair prunella and other drugs, thyme, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, sugar beet, broccoli and carrots. Gentian plant wet flat bud (Gentianopsispaludosa), black water valeriana (Valeriana rensissmir) and other plants. Luteolin is a yellow crystalline powder.
Luteolin was isolated from ethanol as a golden spicules containing a crystalline water. Soluble in ethanol, diethyl ether; Slightly soluble in hot water, insoluble in cold water. The aqueous solution is a pleasant light yellow, soluble in 10% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, and dark yellow. It's stable under normal conditions.
Luteolin (3,4,5, 7-tetrahydroxy flavone) is a natural flavonoid whose structure is shown in Figure 1 because it was originally obtained from Reseda odorata Linn of the family Luteonidae. [1].
