Name: Elm Bark Extract

Source: This product is the dried bark or root bark of Ulmus pumila L., the elm plant.

Harvesting and processing: Harvest in winter and spring, scrape off the gray-brown cork bark when fresh, cut it open longitudinally, hit it lightly with a wooden mallet to separate the bark from the wood core, peel off the white bark, and dry it in the sun.

Herb properties: Dried bark, mostly long and slightly twisted plate, or both sides slightly reversed inward, length and width vary, 1 ~ 3 mm thick. The outer surface is yellowish white or nearly white, with a few brownish brown* spots, flat, with longitudinal cracks and a few fibers, the inner surface is yellowish white or grayish yellowish white, smooth. Light body, tough texture. Slight smell, taste slightly sweet. Dry body, white color, thick skin is better.
