L-Proline is a non-essential amino acid that is synthesized in the body by breaking down L-glutamic acid. It is an important component of collagen, a key protein in the skin, bones, tendons and joints. It helps build collagen, just as glycine is an important component of tissues such as ligaments, tendons, cartilage or muscles. Proline has special properties in wound healing and skin appearance, promoting elasticity and radiance of the complexion.
Proline is an amino acid that is naturally produced by the human body, so it is generally safe to consume. However, as with all dietary supplements, taking proline may cause side effects, especially when taken in large quantities. Possible side effects of using L-Proline and Proline include kidney problems, gastrointestinal disorders and hypoglycemia, among others. Symptoms include:
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Bloating
Anxiety
Sweating
Tremors
Dizziness
Loss of appetite
Vision
Heart rhythm disturbances
Toxic Impaired or dim vision
Liver inflammation

One of the most common side effects of this product is urinary tract infection (UTI) and genital infection. Other possible side effects include: dehydration (dry mouth, increased thirst, dizziness and fatigue), electrolyte imbalance, ketoacidosis (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, confusion and shortness of breath), low blood pressure (dizziness, lightheadedness and fainting), nausea and constipation.
