How to Melt Coconut Oil at Home?
Mar 21,2024
Coconut oil is made by pressing fresh or dried coconut meat (called copra). Virgin coconut oil uses fresh meat, while refined coconut oil usually uses dried coconut. However, coconut oil usually solidifies when the temperature drops. This article will introduce how to melt coconut oil at home.
Using Hot Water
The easiest way to liquefy coconut oil is to use hot water to increase the temperature of the oil. Here are the steps to follow;
Step 1: Pour hot water into a large container to a level that can completely cover the container containing the oil without splashing. Depending on the volume of the container containing the fat, consider using a sink or bucket.
Step 2: Slowly immerse the container with oil in hot water until it is completely covered with water. Make sure the coconut oil container is tight and tight so the oil melts evenly.
Step 3: Wait about 90 seconds and take out the container with oil.
After waiting about a minute and a half, remove the jar of coconut oil from the hot water. Now you can dry the container and check if the oil has melted evenly and is suitable for use.
Using Stovetop
Another way to melt coconut oil is on the stovetop. You can melt the oil by heating your preferred amount of oil in a small pot using the stovetop for about two minutes. When using this method, the oil must be stirred regularly while maintaining a low heat to allow the substance to melt effectively. When the coconut oil turns into a clear liquid, you can take it out and use it.
The above-mentioned are the most effective ways to change your coconut oil from solid to liquid quickly. However, if you leave the liquid oil for some time, it will again solidify, especially if the temperature goes below 24 degrees Celsius.
