神經(jīng)元核蛋白（NeuN）是RNA結合FOX蛋白家族的成員，參與調(diào)節(jié)前mRNA的選擇性剪接。NeuN在有絲分裂后神經(jīng)母細胞的早期胚胎發(fā)育過程中出現(xiàn)，并在整個后續(xù)個體發(fā)育過程中一直存在于分化和終末分化的神經(jīng)元中。NeuN定位于哺乳動物中樞神經(jīng)系統(tǒng)大多數(shù)神經(jīng)元的核和核周細胞質(zhì)中，已被廣泛用作有絲分裂后神經(jīng)元的標志物。
