This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 36.6 kDa. The protein migrates as 44 kDa and 46 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

背景（Background）

白細胞介素-12（IL12）也稱為自然殺傷細胞刺激因子（NKSF）、細胞毒性淋巴細胞成熟因子（CLMF），是一種由兩個獨立基因IL-12A（p35）和IL-12B（p40）編碼的異二聚體細胞因子。IL12是由樹突細胞、巨噬細胞和人類B淋巴母細胞（NC-37）在抗原刺激下自然產(chǎn)生的。IL-12參與幼稚T細胞向Th0細胞的分化，在自然殺傷細胞和T淋巴細胞的活性中起著重要作用。IL-12還具有抗血管生成活性，這意味著它可以阻斷新血管的形成。

白細胞介素-12亞基β（IL12B），也稱為NKSF2、CLMF2和P40。白細胞介素-12亞基β已被證明與IL23相互作用。產(chǎn)生IL12的細胞也分泌大量過量的單體IL12B，并且沒有表現(xiàn)出明顯的生物活性。IL12B基因的過表達已被證明與多發(fā)性硬化癥的發(fā)病機制有關(guān)。此外，研究表明，該基因的啟動子多態(tài)性與兒童特應(yīng)性和非特應(yīng)性哮喘的嚴重程度有關(guān)。
