Difopein (TFA) is a specific competitive inhibitor peptide of 14-3-3 protein, a highly conserved eukaryotic regulatory molecule. The sequence contains 62 amino acids, which can block the ability of 14-3-3 to bind to target proteins and inhibit the interaction between 14-3-3/ligands. Difopein (TFA) induces apoptosis and enhances the ability of cisplatin to kill cells.
