Azocarmine G is useful for protein determination in acidic medium. It is indicated by the formation of purple-red complex.Azocarmine G is a standard stain for microscopy. It may be also be used as a reference standard in the determination of azocarmine G in food products and beverages using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode array detector (HPLC-DAD).
