The reaction was then heated to 120°C for 18 hours. The reaction mass was diluted with water and extracted with DCM (3 X 100 mL). The organic layer was washed with water, brine solution, dried over anhydrous MgSO4 and concentrated to get the crude product which was dissolved in DCM. The mixture was stirred at RT for 2 h, after which the solvent was removed in vacuo. The residue was dissolved into DCM and purified by column chromatography (silica gel, eluting with DCM) to afford tert-butyl (1S, 4S) -5- (2-chloro-5-cyanopyrimidin-4-yl) -2, 5-diazabicyclo [2.2.1] heptane-2-carboxylate (1-c) .
