REVIEW Imidocarb is a symmetrical urea used as an antiprotozoal agent for infection with Babesia and other parasites of cattle, sheep, horses and dogs. The mode of action is uncertain, though two mechanisms have been proposed: interference with production or utilization of polyamines, and prevention of entry of inositol into the erythrocytes containing the parasites.
