Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, also known as bitter sulfur, bitter salt, cathartic salt, Epsom salt, chemical formula for MgSO4·7H2O, for white or colorless needle-like or oblique columnar crystals, odorless, cool and slightly bitter.  Heat decomposition, gradually removed crystal water into anhydrous magnesium sulfate.  Mainly used in fertilizer, leather making, printing and dyeing, catalyst, papermaking, plastic, porcelain, pigment, match, and fireproof material manufacturing, can be used for printing and dyeing thin cotton cloth, silk, as cotton silk weighting agent and kapok products filler.

Application

 Food For food fortification.   China's regulations can be used for dairy products, the use of 3 ~ 7g/kg;   The amount used in liquid and milk drinks is 1.4-2.8 g/kg;   The maximum use in mineral drinks is 0.05g/kg. Industrial Combined with calcium salt for wine mother water, adding according to 4.4g/ 100L water can improve the hardness of 1 degree, multi-use will produce bitter taste, and produce hydrogen sulfide odor. Used for leather making, paper making, porcelain, fertilizer, mineral water additive. AgricultureMagnesium sulfate is used as a fertilizer in agriculture because magnesium is one of the main components of chlorophyll.   It is usually used in potted plants or magnesium deficient crops such as tomatoes, potatoes, roses, etc.   Magnesium sulfate has the advantage of being more soluble than other fertilizers.   Magnesium sulfate is also used as a bath salt.
