Production method

Using p-aminophenol as raw material, p-iodophenol was formed by diazotization and replacement, and then condensed with chloroacetic acid to obtain iodophenethoxylic acid. The sodium nitrite solution was slowly added to the mixture of p-aminophenol, water and sulfuric acid at -5℃, after which the reaction continued for 20min. The diazotization solution and copper powder were successively added to the potassium iodide solution and reacted at 75-80℃ until no nitrogen escaped. After cooling, it was extracted with chloroform, washed with sodium thiosulfate solution, then distilled to recover chloroform, and collected at 135-140℃ (61.3kPa) fractions, that is, p-iodophenol. P-iodophenol and chloroacetic acid were added to sodium hydroxide solution and reacted at 100℃ for 3-6h. When slightly cold, add hydrochloric acid to adjust PH to 3-5. Extract with ether, wash the extract with water, and then neutralize with sodium carbonate solution to form sodium salt. The water layer is separated, acidified with hydrochloric acid, and crystallized. After separation, p-iodophenoxyacetic acid was obtained by recrystallization with 50% ethanol.
