2. Appearance: Colorless crystalline block with a phenol odor. The solubility in water reaches 2.3% at 40 ℃ and 5% at 100 ℃. Soluble in caustic soda and commonly used organic solvents.

3. Usage: Used to produce antioxidant 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol, rubber anti-aging agent, cresol formaldehyde resin, and plasticizer. Used as a disinfectant in medicine and also in the production of dyes
