7.5 g 7-(2-bromethyl)theophylline, 11.3 g 1-norphedrine and 12.5 ml
isopropanol were refluxed with stirring for 6 hours. Then 30 ml ethanol and
HCl in ethanol to pH 5-6 were added. The mixture stood for 2 days. 9.6 g of
7-(2-(beta-hydroxy-alpha-methylphenethylamino)ethyl)theophylline
